Renjit Sundharadas, M.D.
Physical Medicine
I am physiatrist, board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation (ABPMR) as well as a board certified pain medicine specialist( ABA) in the greater San Diego area. My area of expertise is treating patients for nerve, muscle, and bone injuries or illnesses that affect how a patient moves. I completed medical school, residency and an anesthesia based pain fellowship at the Medical College of Wisconsin.
My unique training allows me to be a primary care physician as well as a consultative specialist who can specifically:
· Diagnose and treat pain
· Restore maximum function lost through injury, illness or disabling conditions
· Treat the whole person, not just the problem area
· Coordinate care with a team of medical professionals
· Provide non-surgical treatments
· Provide interventional procedures such as epidural steroid injections
As a rehabilitation physician, I take the time needed to accurately pinpoint the source of an ailment and then design a treatment plan that can be carried out by the patients themselves or with the help of other health professionals, such as neurologists, orthopedic surgeons, and physical therapists.
Having previously worked in an orthopedic and spine surgery practice here in San Diego, I have experience in acute and cumulative trauma injuries, including whiplash and other trauma related pains that often accompany motor vehicle accidents as well as work related injuries. I have performed thousands of interventional spine procedures and have privileges at a local surgery center with the option to provide sedation, as needed.
I have had great success with many patients making significant recovery with conservative treatment, consisting of medications, trigger point injections and epidural steroid injections. I am confident I can provide superior clinical results to patients.
